Bill: Cultural Sovereignty Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Capitalist Working Families
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 2442
Description[?]:
This legislation simply affirms that the Commonwealth of Rutania just simply CANNOT recognize any type of Foreign Marriage if it conflicts with our own domestic definition of marriage. This is NOT a "discriminatory" position, but if some "voodoo" nation believed that a person can have the legal right to marry a CHICKEN, should that same standard be FORCED upon the people of this great Commonwealth??? Thank you for your full support. |

Message | We believe that anyone should be able to marry whatever they want. Chickens included. |
Date | 17:11:39, August 10, 2007 CET | From | Neo-Epicurean Party | To | Debating the Cultural Sovereignty Act |
Message | Rutania's marriage policy is already very liberal. There are very few nations that have such "bizarre" marriage laws, and those that do, are not likely to send many immigrants to Rutania. Changing the current law would have little benefit for our citizens and might ruffle some feathers (so to speak) with international relations. We oppose this bill. |
