Bill: Conservation of Marine Resources Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Neo-Epicurean Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 2442

Description[?]:

It is well known that unregulated fishing can lead to depletion of ocean stocks. Rather than face this threat to the fishers' livelihoods and our citizens' nutrition, we propose a regulation of fishing to limit the number of fish that may be caught at any one time. This will promote continued, sustainable use of our land's natural resources.

Messagefishing quotas are not inherently restrictive. they allow more than enough fish to be caught without jeopardizing the aqueous ecosystem.

Instead of infringing on fellow Rutanians' RIGHT to unlimited fish, would it just be EASIER for the Gov't to inject "fertility drugs" in the fish and RE-insert them back into the water???

MessageTo claim that people have a "right" to unlimited quantities of a limited resource is not reality-based logic.

Random fact: When it comes to creating a Cultural Protocol in a Culturally Open nation, players are not necessarily required to provide a plausible backstory for how the nation's cultural background developed. However, the provision of a plausible backstory may be a factor in whether Moderation approves the Cultural Protocol if players in surrounding nations question its appropriateness for their region of the game map.
