Message | Torture should not be allowed under any circumstances, it is contrary to the rule of law and indeed common decency. If we allow torture we are no better than terrorists ourselves. As for nuclear and biological weaponry the curent laws allow a measured response on our part to any such attacks, thus having a deterrent value, the proposed changes would in fact encourage any potential aggressors to launch a pre-emptive strike against our facilities. |
Date | 16:25:04, August 11, 2007 CET | From | Kanjoran Centrist Party | To | Debating the Freedom for Defense Act |
Message | We will not support the use of torture, nor will we support the use of biological and chemical and nuclear weopons in aggression by this nation - we feel that safe guarding our current option to use them in retalliation is sufficient in protecting our national security. |

Message | We can actually support the use the above mentioned weapons however we cannot condone torture so if you removed that article we would support it. We have realised that perhaps the ability to use such weopons in any situation could act as an even stronger deterrant to other nations in declaring war and thus save kanjoran lives. However we strongly reccomend that such weopons never be used in acts of total aggression only as an act of retalliation in a case where we were invaded ...... we think that waiting until somebody else uses them on us as the current law demands is possibly a little too submissive and could actually undermine national security. |

Message | Torture is a major anathema to us, but we support the rest of the bill. |
