MessageWe may be able to support Article 1. We can support Article 2. We cannot support Article 3 (though we would support a change to the conscription option of "All adults upon completion of schooling can be required in times of war to serve a term in the military." We will not support Article 4 as feel that recreational drug use is a matter for the Provincial governments.

In summary: Article1 (abortion) maybe, Article 2 (medicinal cannabis) yes, Article 3 (conscription) not as it stands, Article 4 (recreational drugs) no Thus we are unable to support this bill as it stands.

MessageIn times of war conscription in the military? No thank you. WA is a firm believer in the maxim "No Wars between Nations. No Peace between Classes."

While we do not mind a weaker central government we think it silly that a matter of basic right be put to a hodge podge of statutes when the demands of liberty are clear.

That said we would be willing to remove the last two articles in order to secure PPK support.

MessageFirst two, no problem.

Article 3 was a DLP proposal, and we wish it to remain; it is important to build the people's ownership of government, building a national leadership of youth and maintaining a strong defensive military. (The DLP has routinely voiced its position of isolationism, but feels that the military must be maintained to protect the nation from others, especially as of right now with the whole Deltarian situation.)

Article 4 is a little too juvenile and we cannot support it. Compromise a bit, and you've got our votes.

MessageThank you for your consideration. We do not approve or propose agressive wars, however we do believe that a strong military is the best deterrent to the agression of others.

ooc: feel free of course to put the removed bills up as another bill, you may well get the support of other parties

MessageNot strictly unanimous, one party abstained. Though quite right in terms of senate votes it was unanimous.

Random fact: In order for a Cabinet bill to pass, more than half of the legislature must vote for it and all of the parties included in the proposed Cabinet must support it. If your nation has a Head of State who is also the Head of Government, then the party controlling this character must also vote for the bill, since the Head of Government is also a member of the Cabinet. If any of these requirements are not met, the bill will not pass.

Random quote: "It's not enough that we do our best; sometimes we have to do what's required." - Winston Churchill
