Bill: Recreational Substances Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Lodamun Autonomous Republican Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2442

Description[?]:

The current laws on drug use make it illegal to possess any kind of recreational drug. All this is doing is creating a black market for drug dealers, making harmless addicts into hardened criminals and costing the police lives, money and manpower. We suggest laxening the laws so as to reduce this burden.

MessageThere is no reason why our government should, barring negative external outcomes of consumer choice, regulate what citizens choose to consume. We fully support the LARP on this issue.

MessageA wise man once told me this concerning people's rights. "You're rights end when your fist meets my face." This is the purpose behind laws concerning drug use with a greater potential for a drain on society and geneal dangers that grow with cultural drug use. OOC Check out the average lifespan in countries run by drugs, such as Colombia, if you don't believe me. The ULP will not stand for Lodamun being run by druglords which is the inevitable conclusion to the passing of this bill.
