Bill: Common Sense Precautionary Act
Details
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 2442
Description[?]:
The Stvrtý Deltárska Republika has, as of late, been deliberately trying to bait us into confrontation with their recent expulsion of Mormons, and their misguided efforts to hold their own citizens for ransom. I fear it is only a matter of time before war of some sort is inevitable. Our current defense budget is inadequate. If we cannot properly raise funding for our own defense, then I fear the only solution is to increase military man-power. I feel that even the most pacifist of our leaders can see the inherent wisdom of this move from national service to basic military. |
Proposals
Article 1

Message | We're not going to go to war. Falling for their baiting would be pretty pathetic. |

Message | (OOC: Augh, I'm stupid. I read the "Can" in the stupid bill as a "Must". I wanted a STRONGER legislation, damn it.) |
Date | 01:12:09, August 13, 2007 CET | From | R.I.F.T. | To | Debating the Common Sense Precautionary Act |
Message | (OOC, again: Actually, I think this IS still a firmer response, despite the "Can". It implies that we can take all the able-bodied citizens instead of just whoever doesn't go into national service. I stand by my vote) |
