Bill: Enterprise Encouragement Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Lodamun Autonomous Republican Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 2442
Description[?]:
The LARP believes that enterprise and entrepreneuralism are the foundations of Lodamun's capitalist economy and that the government should encourage them as much as possible so as to increase prosperity for all. Therefore we propose a number of reforms to remove restrictions and help small and medium-sized businesses. Please note that in the case of the first article strikers may appeal to the government if they feel that their strike was reasonable and the government can restore their jobs and take punitive actions against the employer. |

Message | Is subsistence all that we really wish for our society? The only people that benefit from establishing a subsistence wage are those who are already well off. On Article Two: In this bill's description, the LARP pointed out that the government can be appealed in the case of an unfair hiring. Why waste time and efficiency of our current system by firing workers THEN contesting the very same firings? This does nothing but hurt all parties involved. |

Message | I also oppose article two. As for article one I always wondered - who determines what is reasonable? the government? If so why change the status quo? |

Message | The employer decides what is reasonable; the number and complexity of contested firings should be far less than the current amount of requests. As to the minimum wage, lowering it also decreases the cost of goods greatly. The workers on minimum wage are the ones who benefit most from this, since most of their income goes to consumer goods. |

Message | In regards to Article Two, who determines the unreasonable reasons for which the workers have gone on strike? If it is the company, then we will vote "no" since they can cite any reason as an unreasonable reason. |
