MessageWe prefer this option "All adults upon completion of schooling can be required in times of war to serve a term in the military"

In our view having conscription will not strengthen our army, for the following reasons.

- It will add an unnecessary strain to the defence budget, taking funds away from expenditure upon equipment by increasing the wage spending

- It will undermine the professionalism of the army as we move from a volunteer to a conscript army.

- It will undermine morale within the army, as rather than having motivated volunteers, we will have largely unmotivated conscripts wo simply desire to get their period of service over as quickly as possible

- Veteren NCO's will be moved from front line units to massively enlarged training units, weakening the experience of front line units

- We would have hundreds of thousands of more troops than we really need

- It would require a massive overhaul of the infrastructure within our nation, as more barracks and training facilities would have to be built

Given this, the current Minister of Defence voices his opposition to peacetime conscription.

MessageWe do not support this option. We must ensure that all of our citizens are trained to come to the aid of our great nation in times of crisis. A contingency for conscription does not suffice.

Messagewe also want to go further, however we need the support of the JKK. At least this option is better than nothing
