Description[?]:
Education is the very cornerstone of any successful democracy. While we firmly believe that the Sekowon educational system is one of the best in the world, we underscore the importance of a system that can adapt to fit the needs of the constantly changing global economy. Education is a lifelong process and this Act will ensure that our great country remains the standard that all other educational systems are judged. Through this Act we will increase educational opportunities for all citizens by removing the social and economic constraints that hinder many of our less fortunate citizens. Through the increase of educational standards, programs and opportunities we can achieve a fully accountable educational system that will prepare all of our citizens today for the challenges of tomorrow. --------- Article 5 Proposal to require that all citizens after a minimum of 5 years tenure at their current employer may request and receive either A) An unpaid leave of absence to enroll in a bachelor`s, master`s or doctorate program of their choice. The leave of absence may not be required of the employer for a period longer than 48 months. If the program is successfully completed the employee will return with full seniority and all rights and privileges associated with that. If the program is not successfully completed employer policy or if applicable governing union contract will determine how the employee is re assimilated. or B) a part-time work schedule which allows the enrollment in a bachelor`s master`s or doctorate program of their choice. The part-time work schedule accommodation may not be required of the employer for a period longer than 60 months. If the program is successfully completed the employee will return with full seniority and all rights and privileges associated with that. If the program is not successfully completed employer policy or if applicable governing union contract will determine how the employee is re assimilated. During the part-time work schedule benefits and monetary compensation will be dictated by company policy or if applicable governing union contract. Article 6 Proposal to allow all citizens over the age of 21 to attend free of charge (1) four week seminar every two years. The seminars will be administered by the Office of Continuing Education. The goal of these seminars is to revisit and retrain essential critical thinking skills, showcase and train citizens on the use of new and emerging technologies, and to help prepare citizens of all ages to be able to compete and succeed in the always changing and evolving international workforce. All citizens who are employed will receive full pay from their employers for their time spent at the seminar, unless the employee is covered under a governing union contract which specifically states otherwise. Article 7 Proposal to allow all citizens over the age of 50 to audit any class at any public university or college up to a maximum of six classes per academic year. An active and strong mind goes with an active and strong body. Our senior citizens are a very important part of society and have much to still offer back to society. Our traditional aged college students will benefit with being able to interact and learn from their experiences while our senior citizens stay active and healthier. |
