Message | We need to start encouraging a healthy respect for the law amongst the refugees who come to Likaton in search of a better future. While we sypathasize with their struggle, and will always defend their right to freedom, this should not exempt them from following the same laws as everyone else. At the same time, The People's Party calls on the Government to simplify the process of recognition, so that all refugees may move beyond their past into a future of freedom and dignity. |

Message | It appears to me that you are proposing to make the laws on refugees harsher than they already are. |

Message | As i understand it , I am only proposing that refugees register themselves with the government. They may stay back on an extended visa while they are here, but it is important that they let the government know they are here. Without a formal process of registration people might abuse the system by immigrating illegaly and then calling themselves "refugees" when they are caught. |

Message | I understand what you mean, but as it stands, they are already required to be from "extreme circumstances". That implies disasters of the kind that receive great public acknowledgement. It doesn't refer to just any tinpot dictator. Furthermore, in the aftermath of the disasters that our current policy guards against, "official channels" may be either swamped or destroyed. |

Message | I can't vote yes on this, I believe we have an international duty to offer help to those in need. The law is fine as it is. We should encourage healthy respect for the law by using the usual channels is refugees break the law. |

Message | the problem with this is that the proposals are worded ambiguously and that is not anybody here's fault. The problem is that it does not make clear whether it will be easier or harder for refugees to gain entrance under the proposed system. I am in support of less harsh immigration policies, and if this means that anybody who applies legaly has a better chance than under previous law, i would support it. |

Message | I think this actually allows all refugees to come in so long as they register properly with the government. Therfore the policy is in fact more liberal than the one before |

Message | I think I see what you mean. So with this policy, it doesn't have to be considered an "extreme" event. You can be fleeing any circumstance, as long as you apply for protection. In that case, I'll support it. |
