Message | The act was instituted so that way young people would get involved in their government; whether it be military or civilian service. Young people go around to help in constructing decent homes for the poor, and playgrounds for children. They engage in voter registration drives, learn about how government works from the inside and learn invaluable on-the-job training for their future careers (as well as network contacts for the future). They are drafted to help their local and national governments and people. Engaging in this mandatory service is the best possible way for young people to take back their government, and to prove their ownership of it. The government, afterall, is made up of the people and runs for the people. All-in-all, the current plan is the begining, the foundation, of a socialist state in which ALL are active in the government process; which is a step towards working class leadership and total local control of industries for the benefit of all. |

Message | All of that could be organized by mutual aid associations of the working class. Forcing people to obey orders regardless of whether its for some liberal do gooder ideal is just silly. Draft the rich into labor camps for sure, but leave the rest of us out of it. |

Message | Anyone remember the military aid we're supposed to be sending to Mordusia and the war we're in? We will vote no. |

Message | Great, yes, lets shrink our military as we begin sending our sons to battle. If this proposal passes we will demand a withdrawal from the Mordusia conflict. |

Message | There is no better way for the working classes to become engaged in government than to draft them into it. Otherwise, the workers will join the armed forces "voluntarily" out of necessity due to their position. And they will not be considered for other roles; which will go to the families of the well-off and/or politically conscious; which, unfortunately, is not frequently the working classes. |

Message | Well hence the reason for revolution. Abolition of the military and its replacement with community controlled and democratic workers militias. |

Message | Which can't happen without the working class taking an active role in politics ... and not just through political parties. (If I could make it voluntary I would, but that's not an option in the game, haha.) |

Message | We will be voting No, citizens have both rights and responsibilities. The defence of our people is we feel one of those responsibilities. |

Message | to DLP to be perfectly honest political parties will never liberate anyone. I am actually steadfastly anti electoral, only through self organization and direct action can things change. Sadly, the game engine rests upon political parties, so we must try an approximation of what a libertarian socialist party would look like. The people will never be interested in politics becuase some overbearing state with nanny like morality comes along and tells them to do something. Only by organizing, in a democratic and autonomous way, around issues that affect them can things properly change. You may not think that community gardens, tenant unions, and labor unions are political, but I sure do. They do a whole lot more than the Democrats or any Labor party ever has. |

Message | We support this entirely. This archaeic piece of legisliation ought to be eradicated from Kanjoran Law. |

Message | We are not a libertarian socialist party. OOC: This game is based around party politics; there isn't going to be too much "autonomy" of anyone, so I don't know what you are driving at. Secondly, quit with the "subtle" jibes at the DLP's politics. This isn't the only post they have "appeared." |
