Bill: Cabinet Proposal of September 2444

Details

Submitted by[?]: Liberty Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2445

Description[?]:

With the influx of new parties and different ideologies, the choice of parties to form a coalition has bloated beyond belief.
However, as the President of the Republic by which is stands, I have no choice but to offer this following cabinet. It includes candidates from the Fascist Libertarian Party, the Neo-Libs, the Progressive Libs, the People Party, the Anarchists, and I've proposed that my party takes control of the foreign office as we'd like to organize free trade agreements with nations that share our ideas.
As to the Progressive Libs and the Neo Libs, I thank you kindly for your sponsorship that's gave us Libertarians the power to form a cabinet like this. I would have loved to forfill my offer of 4 ministries each, however, with the recent political upheaval, this has become no longer possible if we want this proposal to pass.
My fellow parliamentarians, the Zardugal political situation has been at a deadlock for the past few days. 2 elections haven't sold the problem. This proposal would enable our government, though slightly fractured, to function. In the interests of Zardugal, lets put this cabinet into power.
I'll leave this open for 2 days to make sure all parties involved are happy, then we'll start voting.

MessageWe are not necessarily opposed to this cabinet make up, but we would prefer to see the Fascists in a ministry that does not carry as much responsibility to the next generations. Perhaps Infrastructure and Transport.

MessageHow interesting that the Zardugal Trade Unionist Party wishes to secure democracy by placing opponents in positions where they "do not carry as much responsibilty" and are less able to conduct their politics. Splendid show of hypocracy, sirs.

MessageHypocritical? Sir, did you ever stop and think that perhaps our desire to see a party and governing coalition that actually responds to the needs of the people, as opposed to responding to the needs of business interests, special interest groups and other such facets, is what Zardugal needs? We do not feel that you are up to par to run the Ministry of Education. Deal with it.

MessageWhat an excellent sentiment to have, now that you're not going to be part of the government.

MessageThough we see the trade unionist's point, we feel that we should just get his cabinet into power as soon as possible.
As for the vain conservatives, this is exactly what you tried to do, and you fought off the cries of outrage from parties both included and not included in the proposal. The only reason you don't agree with this cabinet is because your not included in it.

Message"We were also decried for attempting to form a cabinet that did not include everyone. This is not so much as vain posturing, but just an act of 'I told you so.'"

ToDebating the Cabinet Proposal of September 2444
MessageThe Progressive Liberals do not feel this as a workable Government. We are vigorously opposed to the ideals of both anarchism and fascism. Both parties undermine our basic beliefs of freedom and fair regulation. We cannot and will not do business with these parties and thus we are voting against this cabinet proposal, even if it means another election or being in opposition.
