Description[?]:
"Our national defence is one of the primary concerns facing our nation. With the recent expulsion of Jews from Deltaria, the rise of Jelbék nationalism, Pnték fascism and Kafuri radicalism it is clear that our people are once again under threat, as such we propose these measures be taken to ensure we are fully able to defend our nation, our culture and our race." -- Joel X, Ma'aavk spokesperson for Defence 1. Whilst we essentially have no problem with elements of the private sector contributing to our defence industries providing they are loyal Beiteynuese citizens this currently is not the case and so we propose this law. Our present laws on foreign investments allow anyone of any nation to invest freely in our companies and this included defence. As such we are allowing Deltarians, Pontesians, Hulstrians, anyone to take as much of our defence industries as they want! This is madness, pure madness and to prevent our strongest form of defence against foreign invaders being compromised we propose the immediate nationalisation of all defence industries to ensure they are controlled by those we trust. We would be happy to revert this law if that on foreign investments was changed. **AMMENDED** Proposed to ensure foreign companies cannot control our defence industries. 2. This is a simple law to reflect the fact that only Jews are allowed to obtain citizenship in Beiteynu. Ergo only Jews should be permitted to serve in armed conflit. We are merely closing a loophole. 3 and 4. This is a streamlining process we have devised to minimise government costs and to ensure complete safety for our citizens. Currently the military is allowed to assist the police and recent reports have shown that in over 40% of major crimes they military have actually been called in. Therefore we can conclude that the police are not working to the effectiveness that we would desire yet the military can provide such a service. As such we feel it would be in the best interests of all the hand over policing duties to the army itself, to merge the current police force into the military and to officially dissolve to police force as an institution. 5. This is preposturous! We are a sovereign and independent nation yet we are handing over key defence policies to foreign bodies or institutions, but why? We are not prepared to stand by and watch our treatment of those that seek to destroy us determined by damn Pontesians. Beiteynuese sovereignty over Beiteynuese policy! 6. This proposal is to be put in place in order to ensure Beiteynuese guns are not given to those that would use them against our own people. We propose arms only be sold to those nations that are members of the Accord or those that have expressed definite support to the Jewish Homeland, eg. Cobura through the Declaration of Support for the Fourth Jewish Homeland of Beiteynu. 7. Whilst it is clear that mixed units of men and women could promote unnecessary and indecent distractions from the job at hand it is also true that our Jewish women are in many cases just as capable of fighting for the Motherland as our Jewish men. We propose allowing them to take part in armed conflict but to do so in seperate units, this will allow all citizens to protect Beiteynu but ensure it is done in a morally pure and regulated environment. |

Message | "Article 1 I can see the logic behind, however we do not feel it is neccessary. At the minute, we buy almost everything from the Private Defence Industries, or else we decide when they are allowed to export weapons. Now, i'm not saying the Government actively discriminates against industries owned by Pntéks or the Majatrans, but lets just say industries owned by non-citizens are not as successful as their Jewish owned counterparts. Article 2 we must agree with. Our minorities simply aren't commited enough to the defence of the Homeland The statistics highlighted by the Ma'avak party show the clear failings of the police force of our nation. Constituents have also been bringing to attention of their representatives in the Mizrachi Ligat of discrimination against them by Pnték members of the police, who seem to value their own people more than ours. Removing them from law enforcement is the only way to gurantee security of our nation. Articles 4 and 5 we will also support. As for article 7, we prefer the law to remain the same. Obviously I am not going to be approving arms sales to any of our enemies, and this way we at least have a legitimate reason to know details of weapons sales." Zivia Anielewicz Minister of Defence |

Message | "In the spirit of compromise we will trust the government on article 7 and remove it, however we are loathed to give up on article 1 unless there are further assurances that foreign investors cannot take control of our defence industries. As such we would only be willing to remove it if the Mizrachi Ligat would be willing to support legislation banning foreign investors from obtaining a majority share in national industries. This is only a small ammendment but one that we feel will go a long way to further protecting our nation. We thank the government for its support on all the other proposals listed here." |

Message | We can not support this bill in anyway, too many articles lend way to fascism and isolation. |
