MessageSorry for the large volume of bills. I'm going to leave them up for debate much longer than I have in the past.

MessageNo problem as long as we have the time for debate.

We are against the death penalty because its a barbarian costume that goes against the progressive way of the people of Dorvik. The State, this Leviathan, has no legitimate power to decide who lives and who dies. Also the death penalty, in our view, is not too much different than those penalties applied by totally undeveloped communities where thieves have their hands chopped if caught. We would like to remember all parties that the death penalty is the only penalty where a error in the prosecution can not be undone. It goes against our Judiciary System we will vote against it.

MessageI have also to add that this bill goes against our extradiction policy that prevents us from extradicting persons to nations with capital punishment or with cruel or inhumane treatment of suspects and convicts.

MessageHowever we could just invade foreign countries overthrow their leaders and execute them on the invaded countries terms. I mean if your that keen to use the death penalty then why not. Otherwise the MPD has to disagree with Capital Punsihment on Dorvish Soil.

MessageNote that the death penalty will only apply where there is incontrovertible proof of guilt. It would certainly be hypocritical of us to claim to protect the innocent while we send innocent people to their deaths.

We understand that this is a rather sensitive issue for many, and we do take it seriously. However, we feel that there are some individuals who are so dangerous that we should do everything in our power to keep them from harming the law-abiding citizens of our Free Republic.

As for the MPD's response, we simply are at a loss on how to respond. A few senior members of the Technocratic Nationalist Party are curious as to what could have prompted such vitriolic statements.
