Bill: Government Titles

Details

Submitted by[?]: Deus Ex Machina Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 2446

Description[?]:

We have taken the position of both heads of government, and believe that the names are fairly boring and plebian. We wish to be known as something else during our four year tenure, and would be perfectly willing to rename the offices as soon as anyone else takes power.

We are open to suggestions and will leave this in debate for the time being.

Opposed. This is not Burger King and you CANNOT have it "your way."

We believe that the offices of Head of Government and Head of State should be merged into ONE and that should be called the "President" who chairs the Cabinet.

MessageNot the Robopope one.

We are against any religously sounding titles.

May we suggest alternatives?

High Technarch?
High Technocrat?

MessageSorry, no Robopopes.

The robots may have a plurality of votes, but that does not translate to absolute control of the country and there is no guarantee that they will be a part of the next government.

MessageIn the interest of defining something that the rest of the government can live with, and in keeping with our new image as a cybernetic republic, let me suggest the following:

The Head of State is a largely ceremonial office, and should have the more "impressive" title. I suggest "Prime Technocrat".

The Head of Government is the one with the actual executive power, so "Chief Executor" would be appropriate here.

Random fact: Particracy does not allow real-life brand names (eg. Coca Cola, McDonalds, Microsoft). However, in the case of military equipment brand names it is permitted to use simple number-letter combinations (eg. T-90 and F-22) borrowed from real life, and also simple generic names, like those of animals (eg. Leopard and Jaguar).
