Bill: Axis Mundi Sturm und Drang Partei Manifesto - New World Order (i)

Details

Submitted by[?]: Commonwealth Workers Army

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 2447

Description[?]:

Religion has no place in public life. A relationship between a Citizen and his or her 'god' should be the province of the citizen.

Any form of OVERT worship, or adherence to OVERT dresscode or symbolism is suggested as being forbidden under this legislation. What goes on behind closed doors is a matter of individual conscience, but evangelism is a social disease that must be disinfected.

Amendment: In order to achieve balance with the Party for Stability, a clause is suggested that protects the non-religious 'religious dresscode' of the Convocation. Certainly, we see no conflict with utilitarian black as a dresscode. We would not be opposed to such garments being allowed to bear 'motifs' in Likatonian colours (black, red and white). We have no conflict even with the concept of mandatory head protection.

We reinforce - 'religious' dresscodes as addressed by this bill would be those that carry an overt religious connotation. Tinfoil hats for advocates, and clownshoes for mimes, would not be addressed under this legislation.

MessageWhile we remain skeptical on the degree of efficacy we can really expect from foil bonnets, we must applaud the intent of the Party for Stability to protect both finely pressed aluminium goods production, and the delicate noodles of the Convocation.

Never has the shiny-lined bobblehat been such a testament to patriotism.

MessageWe remain opposed to any repression of the rights of the peoples of Likatonia to believe in whatever they want, and to express that belief at any time.

MessageWe care not about what people choose to believe. We do care about the implications of public expression of belief... repression, coercion, peer-pressure, victimisation.

Random fact: In cases where a party has no seat, the default presumption should be that the party is able to contribute to debates in the legislature due to one of its members winning a seat at a by-election. However, players may collectively improvise arrangements of their own to provide a satisfying explanation for how parties with no seats in the legislature can speak and vote there.
