Bill: Justice Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: Partie Légitimisme
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2447
Description[?]:
We find that our justice system has several flaws which should be corrected. This mostly concerns our prison. Why should the thugs, rapists, and gangsters receive cushy appointments, wages, and education for committing crimes? We believe those put into our prison systems are the scorn of humanity, and as such, should be denied any form of human rights. Only when they are released from prison should they be afforded the liberties of Aldurian citizens. What is the point of having 'law-abiding' citizens when even those in Prison are granted liberty? We also propose some minor reforms to our Death Penalty--it should be usable in cases of extreme need, like crimes against humanity or terrorism. Why should such murders who have wreaked havoc be able to live their lives, even if behind bars? |

Date | 04:04:55, August 23, 2007 CET | From | Partie Traditionnelle de Monarchiste | To | Debating the Justice Bill |
Message | The Partie Traditionelle de Monarchiste supports this bill to the fullest extent and our glad that the prisoners - who have wronged society once - are not allowed to sit around and be educated (likely studying law so they can find a way to sue the state for not being given the right cereal in prison) on the government dole. They should be forced to work to pay back society for their crimes. |
Date | 03:46:32, August 25, 2007 CET | From | Parti social-démocrate | To | Debating the Justice Bill |
Message | The function of the prison is not only to provide fence beetwen us and the criminals but also as institution that will rehabilitate them and make them into productive members of society when they get out. |
Date | 07:31:36, August 25, 2007 CET | From | Partie Légitimisme | To | Debating the Justice Bill |
Message | Prisoners are uneducated pigs and that is how they should remain. They should receive no wages, or any education, because they are put there. If they are too stupid to function properly in the first place, there is no reason why we should grant them a second chance. |

Random fact: Don't put "the" as the first word in your party name, because when parties are referred to in news reports, their names are preceded with "the", e.g. the [Socialist Party] has lost. |
