Bill: Council Housing Proposal
Details
Submitted by[?]: Democratic Trade Unionist Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 2448
Description[?]:
It is an unfortunate fact that some citizens may require public housing at some point in their lives, as their economic situation dictates. As such we believe that this moderate proposal could appeal to both sides of the political divide, but of course we are willing to negotiate with our libertarian collegues to find the best way forward |

Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The government policy regarding housing.
Old value:: All housing is privately-owned.
Current: All housing is private but rent is subsidised for low-income households.

Message | Unfortunately, we can't support this. Though there is a free market in property, it is still far too expensive for the state to enter. Private individuals must make provisions for their own housing. Of course, private charity is always there. |

Message | Sadly, in a perfect world we would agree. However, this is not a perfect world, so a government must do its best to care for its people |

Random fact: It is the collective responsibility of the players in a nation to ensure all currently binding RP laws are clearly outlined in an OOC reference bill in the "Bills under debate" section of the nation page. Confusion should not be created by displaying only some of the current RP laws or displaying RP laws which are no longer current. |
