Bill: Sport club Re-Privitization Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Bull Moose Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 2449

Description[?]:

This is a proposal to dismantle our current nationalized chain of "sport clubs". Not only is this needless competition against private businesses (gyms, etc) but also against charitable instituions (YMCA,YWCA). We suggest that our wasteful spending on these sports clubs be stricken from the budget.

MessageConsider how these clubs restrict charitable entities and religious groups from forming their own clubs, however. It is a needless burden on the government and its citizens.

MessageWell, we hadn't thought about it in the sense that these government funded clubs are free to the populace for some reason. Free stuff for poor people? We can get behind that. Oppose.
