MessageFree phone lines...sure. That's what competition is all about. You know that everybody has to pay more after taxes than now, don't you?

Messagepay more taxes.... pay less for phone lines.... cancel out? and infact its cheaper, because private phone lines are run for a profit, while a national service runs to provide the best possible service.

Private = Cost of Line (C) + Corporate Profit Margin (M) = Cost to "consumer" = C+M
Public = Cost of Line = Cost to consumer = C

seems better to everyone EXCEPT those who own the communication industries to me./.....

MessageExcept you're incorrectly making the assumption that the private C = public C. You see, the public sector as you point out is not run for profit. Therefore there is no incentive to operate as efficiently as a corporation (the taxpayers having had their brains destroyed by bad socialist TV). It could then be easily argued that public C > private C.
