Bill: Transitional Unity Cabinet Proposal of March 2448

Details

Submitted by[?]: Ma'avak

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2448

Description[?]:

"As Beiteynu is in the transitional stage from necessitated authoritarian rule to democratic proceedings we feel it right to present a unity cabinet representing all parties currently holding seats in the Knesset.

Via percentage calculations the Civil Liberty Persecution Complex Party, the Mizrachi Ligat, Aymam, the Moderate Voice of Reason Party and the Christian Zionist Party are all entitled to two cabinet posts whilst the Robotic Nationalist Party and the Pharaoh's People's Party are entitled to one each. However as this leaves one cabinet post free we thought it fair to hand it to the CLPCP much as we disagree with many of their policies to illustrate their position as the largest party.

The six most important positions have been allocated evenly to the six largest parties with the role of Av Beit Din going to the CLPCP as they are the largest party but also to create a Beiteynu Resistance Committee/Secular Liberal Coalition split between the roles of HoS and HoG.

Overall this cabinet proposal gives 6 seats to parties affiliated with the Beiteynu Resistance Committee and 7 to those of the Secular Liberal Coalition which creates a fair overall split in the cabinet.

We hope this shall pass however two more issues need to be addressed. Firstly if this cabinet fails we will propose a new one but this will be our one and only shot at a complete unity cabinet. Secondly this is in no means meant to last for a considerable amount of time, in fact we anticipate this cabinet to last at most to our next set of elections.

We look forward to this cabinet coming to fruition and a new era of stability in Beiteynu."

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election.

Random quote: "The great economic, social and political scientist, Karlstein Metz, accurately predicted over 2,500 years ago that capitalism is doomed to destruction by its inherent weaknesses and contradictions, and must inevitably be replaced by a communist form of social, political and economic organisation." - Friedrich Pfeiffer, former Dorvish politician
