Bill: Axis Mundi Sturm und Drang Partei Manifesto - New World Order (vi)

Details

Submitted by[?]: Commonwealth Workers Army

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2448

Description[?]:

Addressing a few issues, on behalf of our constituents.

First - our constituents have told us they want Likatonia to be more open to the outside world. We agree - our population needs to grow, and there is no quicker way to boost population, than by encouraging immigration.

Second - our constituents continue to tell us that religion is an oppressive spectre in their everyday lives. We have targetted some key elemets of religious oppression.

Third - our constituents tell us that - while they trust the legal process, they do not necessarily trust ALL representatives of the legal office. Bearing this in mind, we call for the removal of torture as an option.

Fourth - there are a couple of areas where our constituents have told us they think government centralisation would be a boon. We have offered some options for increased government involvement.

Fifth - Drunk-driving is a big issue according to SuDP research. We suggest a hardline policy.

MessageWell, most of the proposals are good, but mass murder of people who might like to live on for some years and a total prohibition of booze can't be supported.

MessageThere is no mass murder in the bill. Murder is the illegal removal of a human life, and this bill would make some such removal legal. Thus - no murder.

MessageMost of your points are valid, but the Likatonian Defense Act already covers what the Order would support here. Articles eight and nine would only invite foreign subversion. Furthermore, torture builds character.

MessageWe would hope to support this, however as the proposal is allowing terrorists and Keymonese (and terrorist keymonese) into the country, we hereby abstain.
