Bill: French Union
Details
Submitted by[?]: 2ème PPPP
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2450
Description[?]:
I believe we should seriously consider this idea brought up by our neighbors in Rildanor. Go here to check out the discussion:

Ok I'm putting this to vote to see how many of us are in basic support of the idea of having a greater union with possibly a number of our neighbors. If you are diametrically opposed to even the slightest loss of sovereignty, vote no. |

From | 2ème PPPP | To | Debating the French Union | Message | So uhh what happened to strength in unity? |
Date | 03:18:33, August 29, 2007 CET |
From | Front Canrillaise | To | Debating the French Union | Message | Kanjor would become a province of this new nation, just like Rildanor will be. However, ALL parties in both countries can participate in and vote on national issues as if they were any ordinary national party.
The idea is designed to enhance gameplay, at least until Paragon. This is suppose to make RPing a lot better as this is not done a lot in Particracy. Our combined power and influence will be unrivaled.
Some will ask what this will do to "sovereignty". All I can say is that we can create a new sovereignty that unites both countries under one decentralized, federal state. |

4-Ps: Nothing. Strength and Unity of Kanjor is our aim. The UPF is merely questioning what could happen to the power and strength of Kanjor within a newly recreated country. |

From | Union Hosienne-Démocrate (UHD) | To | Debating the French Union | Message | OOC: Is this sort of a European Union idea? A large, unified "country" but the local regions have utmost autonomy? |

From | Partie Patriotique de Kanjor | To | Debating the French Union | Message | ooc: There have been 3 previous attempts at this sort of union, all failed. It might br nice to give it a go and see if we can make it work.
ic: We would like the legislature size for each nation to be 105 rather than 100, in our experience numbers which are divisible by both 3 & 5 work best. |

From | Partie Patriotique de Kanjor | To | Debating the French Union | Message | ooc: basically yes, there isn't a problem, some players just like an active rp environment, and I am curious to see whether it could be got to work! |

From | Front Canrillaise | To | Debating the French Union | Message | OOC: Well it wouldn't be like the EU because both Rildanor and Kanjor will be one country. We decide on national matters together but still retain autonomy with respect to creating provincial laws. Matters concerning the military, foreign affairs, and administration might be the same, but the rest can fall under provincial law.
We do not believe it will be too unwieldy as our cooperation will only involve (mainly) roleplaying. If, for example, there is a war (like the one that almost erupted between Mordusia and Gaduridos) then OUR COUNTRY can decide on how to get involved together, as if it was one legislature and one country. |

From | Grand Order of Organized Native Sodality | To | Debating the French Union | Message | ooc: while you might be interested in greater roleplay ppk, think about whether or not the party you are currently roleplaying would support such a proposition. i doubt very much the patriot party of kanjor would be so willing to give up kanjor's national identity. |

From | Partie Patriotique de Kanjor | To | Debating the French Union | Message | We would have to look at the terms and conditions of such a union, at the moment we see no harm in a constructive discussion of the idea. |

From | Union Hosienne-Démocrate (UHD) | To | Debating the French Union | Message | OOC: I like the idea, but I need to explore the specifics of it more thoroughly. Otherwise, I see it as a sort of "European Union" type of thing. I think a good Fascist Party could be of some use in such a Union. |

Random fact: It is the collective responsibility of the players in a nation to ensure all currently binding RP laws are clearly outlined in an OOC reference bill in the "Bills under debate" section of the nation page. Confusion should not be created by displaying only some of the current RP laws or displaying RP laws which are no longer current. |
