Bill: New Royal House Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Telamonese Cultural Alliance
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2451
Description[?]:
Rather than put it up to an election, the head of state will temporarily revert to elected, but every party should support the same candidate to show their support for a Telamonese Monarchy. We propose Thomas I, a minor prince from Hutori, as the new High King of the Commonwealth. If the Commonwealth Congress is dissatisfied with Thomas's performance, we will choose another new High King at the new election. Voting on this bill will be deferred until after the 2450 elections. We would encourage republican parties to state that they are such in order to get a headcount on the likely effectiveness of this act. |

Message | Well then see it this way, an elected king is in any circumstances better then a heraditary king - if we are to follow the TTIEUs viewpoint... |

Message | How about we let the voters decide whether they want a Monarchy or a Republic? We pass this, then all the Monarchist parties support one candidate (Thomas I), and all the Republican parties support another (President Woogily Woobsy or whatever). If the Monarchist candidate wins, then Telamon will be a Monarchy and Thomas I will be given heriditary rule. If the Republican candidate wins, then we'll change the title to "Supreme Proctor" or whatever. |
