Bill: Budget proposal of April 2450

Details

Submitted by[?]: United Labour Party of Telamon

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill proposes to change the allocation of funds in the budget. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2451

Description[?]:

If you look at the unemployment rates for Telamon ( http://80.237.164.51/particracy/main/viewregion.php?regionid=88#economics ), you'll see that they're very bad. We propose to increase government spending sightly in order to help the economy get back on track.

MessageWe would personally like to see the defence budget cut, and that money used to improve education instead. We are spending 1.3 billion on teaching our citizens to live happy, productive lives, and 25 billion on teaching them to kill their fellow man.

That is a huge imbalance.

MessageSeeing our flat tax system means revenue rise every year would we be more then happy to accept this.

MessageIndeed. Bombs do cost more. That is precisely my point. Money put into education will be a lot more valuable than money spent on defence.

MessageWe have a surplus, there is no reason to decrease defense spending to increase education spending.
