Bill: Cabinet Proposal Act of 2451
Details
Submitted by[?]: 帝国公明党 (Teikoku Kōmeitō)
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 2451
Description[?]:
The DSP feels that the current laws in which only the largest party can propose a cabinet are undemocratic and generally useless. Therefore the DSP proposes that any party be able to propose a party. This will ensure the Democratic process comes into play by allowing the best proposal, that is the one all the parties like can have a chance, rather than the choice pickings of the majority party. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The constitutional right and responsibility to propose a cabinet to the legislature.
Old value:: Only the largest party can propose a cabinet.
Current: Each party can propose a cabinet coalition.
Proposed: Each party can propose a cabinet coalition.

Message | CeC would counter this argument by saying it should be the privilege of the party that had the most votes to create the government of their choice, since they would have been given a "mandate" from the people. We recognize that there are flaws in both ideas, but we support the status quo. Would the DSP be submitting this if it were the SCP and not ShCP with the most seats? |

Message | Yes, we would, in fact we would create the same bill (and more) if we were the majority party. Democracy and the will of the people come before political parties. |

Message | I agree with CeC's arguments. Allowing each party to propose a cabinet may lead to each party proposing one or more cabinets. It is not undemocratic to allow only the largest party to propose a cabinet as the certain party has already been democratically ellected. |

Message | Pan-Sekowan Fascist Front cannot agree with this, for obvious reasons. Democracy is for the weak. |

Message | clearly, we all have our motives. I don't really care about democracy, I just want the cabinet reformed so that I can have more seats. The CFP does not want it reformed because that would be highly detrimental to their power. I guess that the CeC genuinely thinks it's a bad idea. |
