Bill: Morality Legisltion (Anti Drugs/Anti Abortion)

Details

Submitted by[?]: Ma'avak

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 2453

Description[?]:

"In the last term we managed to get the term of abortion scaled back to the first trimester but we would now like to revert it to a level we see truly fair in minimising unnecessary murder. In keeping with the legislation previously put down in the Ultra-Kibbutzim whereby abortion shall only be legal in the following cases;

* Severe mental disability in the child.
* High chance of birth causing death to the mother.

Furthermore we would like to strengthen our previous position on drugs by banning all forms of these disgusting inventions."

MessageDisgusting inventions? Recreational drug use includes smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol you know. The government has no right to declare what individuals are allowed to see, eat, hear or partake in as it circumvents and individuals right to be their own free person.

The fact you previously moved for legal cannibis, which in itself was voted down, and have now taken a more extreme view ignoring the previous results or the other parties outside of the coalition can be taken as an insult to the non-Jewish parties in the nation.

Message"Cigarettes and alcohol are covered by different laws. People do a lot of bad things on drugs- they will lie, steal or kill to get their next hit, and at the end of it all expect to have rehab paid for them. If the people of the state are expected to pay the price of their addiction, should they not also have a say in whether they are allowed to take them in the first place.

Please stop trying to divide the Knesset along ethnic lines. It is a cheap ploy. Our coalition contains the CZP, who supported the initial bill, and the MVP, who I believe are a majority Jewish party, voted against it."

"As the Av Beit Din already state alcohol and cigarettes are included in seperate pieces of legislation, therefore deeming this point null."

"The government has no right to declare what individuals are allowed to see, eat, hear or partake in as it circumvents and individuals right to be their own free person."

"We believe that is does if such activities provide a negative externality to the state and its people in just just monetary but also health and morality terms."

"The fact you previously moved for legal cannibis, which in itself was voted down, and have now taken a more extreme view ignoring the previous results or the other parties outside of the coalition can be taken as an insult to the non-Jewish parties in the nation."

"The fact that parties such as yourself were unwilling to agree to any form of compromise on matters such as this is one of the main reasons the grand coalition collapsed in the first place. We were open to compromise and the continued legalisation of cannabis but you would not even discuss the matter and so have been forced to take unilateral action."
