Message | OOC: In the past, the age of adulthood has been treated as the voting age. IC: The Freedom Party opposes this bill as it will restrict the rights of the Alorian citizenry. |

Message | IC : The youngest members of society are traditionally the least listened to and represented. We need to ensure that the youth of an already apathetic nation as seen with the deeply distressing voter turn out in the last election of 34.45%, are not further alienated and marginalised. Our ears should fully be open to radical new ideas and we should be open to a fresh perspective on our way of life in order to ensure we do not stagnate as a nation. We need to be constantly evaluating ourselves and reforming our ideals and, as some of the best suggestions are from the youth, voting at a young age should be encouraged. We cannot support this proposal but, thank the Republic of Aloria Party for striving to reform our electoral system and encourage debates of this nature, seeing them of the greatest importance. OOC : Thank you for background info, extremely useful was unsure as to what it meant. |

Message | Again I say people under the age of 17 are not mature, and I don't think our country wants unstable people participating in elections. When people are 16 there brain hasnt completely developed and should not be allowed to buy alcohal or cigaretts. |

Message | I oppose this, when I was 16 my political opinions were perfectly formed and I could vote intelligently! |

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play". |
