Bill: Economic Self-Dependence
Details
Submitted by[?]: Progressive Marxist Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 2096
Description[?]:
To wean our nation off of foreign oil we must advocate diluted oil or non-oil fuels. This will be a great push towards diluted fuels, helping the rural economy because of soy and ethanol, and non-oil fuels, pushing our nation into a more efficient fuel economy. Our nation's current fuels can be further sold abroad as we focus on other sources of fuel. Of note is that under our current laws, a neutral party will be appointed to decide the compensation for any vehicles rendered useless. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The government's policy concerning private cars.
Old value:: Private cars are allowed, but people are encouraged to travel collective and tax incentives are provided for cars using environmentally friendly fuels.
Current: Only cars using environmentally friendly fuels are allowed.
Proposed: Only cars using environmentally friendly fuels are allowed.

Message | As for compensation, the law states that any government seizure of private property will be compensated according to the decision of a neutral party. I think that the seizure and disposal of now-useless cars may fall under this legislation. |

Date | 22:52:40, August 15, 2005 CET | From | Progressive Marxist Party | To | Debating the Economic Self-Dependence |
Message | It is labeled as an Eminent Domain issue but it states private property. Until they correct this, i think we can go by the broad definition of property. |

Message | How I do understand, this law does imply that it will it is not possible use the already released engines, which work on the "dirty" fuels? I.e., WITH ALL in whom this engine it is necessary to buy new. This law, thus, seemingly it is reverse valid. This is what me in it does not please itself. |

Message | No, many modern engines can use environmentally friendly fuels. Only the really outdated engines can't use biofuels. |

Message | O! I forgot. Now 2096. Only ancient cars can't use biofuels. Then law is certainly urgent. |

Random fact: Moderation will not accept Cultural Protocol updates which introduce, on a significant scale, cultures which are likely to be insufficiently accessible to players. In particular, for all significant cultures in Particracy, it should be easy for players to access and use online resources to assist with language translation and the generation of character names. Moderation reserves the right to amend Cultural Protocols which are deemed to have introduced significant cultures that are not sufficiently accessible and which are not being actively role-played with. |
