Description[?]:
«Yes, our industry has been choking for decades at the expense of this law made by some "green" fanatical followers of trendy pseudo-science. It should be any responsible man duty to repeal this immediatly. We believe Government has no right to enforce such HIGHLY RESTRICTIVE industrial pollution standards over industry. Instead, it is the Govenrment duty, with basis on sound science, to provide pollution prevention guidelines to our industry, without enforcing them, and more importantly, to provide market-based incentives to develop technologies which meet envrionmental standards. That is responsibility. Enforcing such highly restrictive pollution standards is totally counterproductive, chokes industry and hurts our economy.» William Stapleton, Minister of Environment and Tourism |

Date | 01:00:41, September 09, 2007 CET | From | Darnussian Social Democrat Party | To | Debating the CP Industrial Pollution Standards Act |
Message | The primary role of business is to generate returns and not to care for the environment. Therefore it is this party's view that the government must continue to control pollution. However, it is vital there is more cooperation between all stakeholders to progress ineffective regulation. Though we vote no we are open to incremental changes to progress away from the current values and would welcome them. |
