Bill: Nuclear Weapons Bill 2452
Details
Submitted by[?]: Liberal Party of Solentia
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 2454
Description[?]:
The LPS has long fought to ban chemical, biological and nuclear weapons. Though, there is little support for this from the Senate. This bill however, is a comprimise. Chemical and biological weapons are still able to be used. This bill would see the banning of Nuclear Weapons. Nuclear weapons are the most destructive of the three. The affects of nuclear weapons can last decades into the future. Not only will this disasterous technology destroy other countries, a nuclear accident in our own country can have the same devastating effects. It is imperitive that we do not put our citizens to undue risk, and reinforce our standing as a peaceful nation by not allowing nuclear weapons. |

Date | 03:42:31, September 09, 2007 CET | From | Liberal Party of Solentia | To | Debating the Nuclear Weapons Bill 2452 |
Message | Mr. Mericissan, We do not aim to destroy Solentia's "military well being in the international community". We aim to protect Solentian's and other nations from potential destruction. Furthermore is it not the FIP's responsibility to maintain well-being in the international community? Considering you hold the Foreign Affairs Ministery office, I believe that falls more in line with your responsibility rather than that of nuclear weapons. After all, nuclear weapons aren't great diplomats. Cadel Livingston, Deputy Party Leader |

Message | Before we can back this bill we must know what situations Foreign Countries are in, in relation to if they hold nuclear weapons. If so, it would be foolish for our country to disarm, if not then I will lend my support to this bill along with my party. Irene Edwards, Labour Shadow Foreign Minister |
