Bill: $399 iPhone Act of 2452
Details
Submitted by[?]: Vanuku Corporate Alliance
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 2453
Description[?]:
Consumer electronics like the popular iPhone are increasingly popular! Yet, Vanukuans cannot get them fast enough or cheap enough! Why? Our protectionist-era tariff structure! Our consumers demand cheaply made plastic goods! We must lower the tariffs to allow container ships full of them to flood our shores and fill our stores! The VFA has it on good authority that EVERY party who votes yes on this bill will be shipped a complementary iPhone free of charge! Wow! We cannot afford to pass that up! |
Proposals

Proposed: The nation does not impose any tariffs or quotas on imports.

Random fact: When your party holds the foreign affairs department, you can create new treaties. However, before writing anything new, it is a good idea to search for existing treaties which already accomplish what you desire. |
Random quote: “Under democracy one party always devotes its chief energies to trying to prove that the other party is unfit to rule - and both commonly succeed, and are right.” --H.L. Mencken |
