Details

Submitted by[?]: Marxist-Leninist Happiness Front

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 2458

Description[?]:

We're in favor of a more pragmatic foreign aid policy where we'll provide aid when benefits to our Republic can be extracted. This wouldn't be handouts but rather a tool to gain economic advantages over our rivals.

MessageThe party finds itself in surprised agreement at the good sense of the communists on this matter. This is a sensible, capitalistic approch to foreign policy, in essence "selling" aid rather than merely "giving" it, in a manner which will ultimately be to the benefit of Cildania. Hear hear.

MessageThe government is still robbing Peter to pay Paul, what does it matter what kickbacks it receives?

The JLC will never support anything but a policy of no foreign aid.

MessageUnfortunate that there is no option available under our laws that specificially states "Government shall encourage private companies to render aid to foreign nations in exchange for trading rights, but shall not itself fund or mandate such aid."

MessageI would rather we helped those in need, but this is better than our current policy.
