Bill: Nationalized Health Care Reform
Details
Submitted by[?]: Plato's Republican Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 2453
Description[?]:
As it stands, our Health Care System is on a precipice. We have almost realized a true universal health care system consisting of a single tier of excellent health care service, without creating disenfranchised citizens or hurting the economy. It is therefore the purpose of this bill to propose taking the final step. This bill consists of three parts. Firstly, it calls for the establishment of a single level of universal health care that will be entirely free and public, while simultaneously stripping "second-tier" service to include only those procedures which are consider entirely elective, frivolous, etc. Secondly, it proposes governmental regulation of health and safety in all areas of Industry. The strain on health care services can be greatly eliminated through prevention, and a great deal of serious accidents can be prevented with proper health and safety regulations. Finally, it mandates free vaccinations for children, but allows parents to opt out for whatever reason, should they so choose. In this way, the general health of our population can be improved without costing even a slight loss of liberty. |

Message | The DSP supports Articles 2 and 3. The reason private clinics are allowed is so that the national Healthcare system is'nt flooded with frivolous medical things like face lifts and unnecessary plastic surgery. |

Message | The simple solution would be to not have, offer, endorse, or allow unnecessary plastic surgery or other frivolous procedures. It is, after all, rather wasteful and unrealistic. It also contributes towards poor self-image among both men and women. These facts won't change whether the surgery is done by a public or private provider. Is it really necessary to offer such procedures? |

Message | The people have the right to it should they so choose, as it's not the governments role to tell them what to do with their body. If we close down the places that offer it and subsequently not allow it through the national Healthcare agency a black market of it will open, which will have low standards and would lead to people getting hurt or sick from using the black market. |
Date | 01:52:32, September 09, 2007 CET | From | Sekowan Communist Party | To | Debating the Nationalized Health Care Reform |
Message | The SCP supports this bill almost entirely, though we wonder why parents may opt their children out of good health for them but cannot make decisions about plastic surgery for themselves. |

Message | CeC would support this bill without the elimination of private clinics. |
Date | 05:09:39, September 09, 2007 CET | From | Plato's Republican Party | To | Debating the Nationalized Health Care Reform |
Message | Using the opportunity that the recent election has given us, Plato's Republicans have changed the most contentious facet of this bill to better suit the needs of the people. We hope that it will now gain the support of most parties. |
Date | 07:45:13, September 09, 2007 CET | From | Pan-Sekowan Fascist Front | To | Debating the Nationalized Health Care Reform |
Message | Pan-Sekowan Fascist Front only somewhat disagrees on number 3. We believe that good health is the basis for good and strong soldiers and thus parents should have nothing to say about their children's vaccinations. |
