Date | 08:09:32, September 09, 2007 CET | From | Plato's Republican Party | To | Debating the Immigration and refugees |
Message | Plato's Republicans cannot fathom why the PSFF would simply deny immigrants access to the country. We currently have them pass through rather thorough and informative proceedings before becoming citizens, and frankly there are many "natural" citizens that would be denied acceptance were they forced to go through the same proceedings. As to the denial of refugees, we members of the PRP believe this to be an enlightened nation. To turn away those who seek us out in desperation is to do nothing, and by doing nothing we allow what is evil to destroy what is good. We cannot and will not stand for that. |

Message | Why should we deny refugees and people in general from coming to our nation? We our no more special than anyone, and the sooner people realize that the better. |

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation. |
Random quote: "In Germany they first came for the Communists and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me--and by that time no one was left to speak up." - Pastor Martin Niemoller |
