Bill: Moral Regulation Proposal

Details

Submitted by[?]: Plato's Republican Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2453

Description[?]:

This bill's purpose is in establishing two facts. Firstly, that gambling is not a crime in and of itself, but must be regulated when it is used as a source of income for a business. Secondly, that pornography itself is not immoral in and of itself, but the subjects therein must be consenting persons of the age of majority. By allowing non-consented sexual acts, i.e. rape and paedophilia, to appear in pornography, the Government is implicitly deeming these things as reasonable, when clearly they are not.

MessageThe DSP does not particularly care about gambling.

The DSP does not believe in restricting what a person may see in regards to pornograpy simply because of their age.

MessageTo ensure that there is no confusion, this bill is NOT restricting the sale of pornography in any way. It will still be cheap, plentiful, and available to all. What it WILL do is restrict the content to consensual partners of the age of majority.

MessageThe DSP does not have a problem with any kind of pornography so long as it is consenting.

The pron part restricts it to only consenting adults, and considering different regions may have different ideas of what adulthood is, regardless of the federal age, it opens up a great many legal loop holes.

MessageThe state of the pornographic industry as it stands makes no mention of consent. Bestiality, paedophilia, and rape are all acceptable forms of pornography according to the laws, and therefore are implicitly deemed as acceptable by the Government. Is the DSP seriously suggesting that these things are acceptable in society?

MessageRape no, sex with anyone under 12 (the youngest consent age anywhere in the country) no, bestiality with small animals, no.

Apart from that we don't have a problem with various odd things.

MessageBy striking down this bill, the DSP, the SCP, the AUP, and the CeC are all telling society that it is acceptable to have non-consensual sex because it is legal to present such acts as pornography.

MessageNo, we are against rape, but if it's consenting, or in the case of animals with large animals, we don't have a problem with it.
