Details
Submitted by[?]: Federation Under Crazy Killers -- United
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2098
Description[?]:
My grandfather had cancer all over his ENTIRE body. He couldnt speak because it was in his vocal chords. He could barely walk. He had to be on a respirator to breath because it covered his lungs. He ended up taking the hose out of his nose in the middle of the night, suffucating himself, just so he wouldnt have to suffer any more. You would rather see him live through that? |

Message | Yes, but how do you determine consent? People have gotten away with murder under less stressful situations. That is my only problem. If there were a medical rationale option, I would support it. But there isn't. Go post that idea on the forums. |

Message | We will support this |

Message | You are still failing to see that this may prevent future treatment. As said, if there were a medical rationale, as in the case of your grandfather, I would support this. But now, anyone in any degree of pain may request euthanasia. |

Message | We are against this. And we also...*shudder* agree with PMP. |

Message | Ech... I really don't like the people supporting my side. As of now, the two options are objective. I would prefer that there has to be a medical reasoning behind such state-assisted suicides, only when recovery is impossible as in the case of your grandfather. |
Date | 07:00:12, August 17, 2005 CET | From | Federation Under Crazy Killers -- United | To | Debating the Euthanasia |
Message | You have to have consent from a doctor. Isnt that enough medical reasoning? |
Date | 18:19:22, August 17, 2005 CET | From | Rationalist Party | To | Debating the Euthanasia |
Message | Doctors cannot give consent "First, do no harm" killing someone is harm. |

Message | No its HELPING! They are already harmed by their suffering. |
Date | 02:11:34, August 19, 2005 CET | From | Progressive Marxist Party | To | Debating the Euthanasia |
Message | Right but such an objective measure is just stupid. Medical rationale and colleague council under chance of malpractice suit if deemed unneccesary. |

Message | Well then I hope all that voted no suffer a horrible death. |

Message | Listen as I said, your grandfather is one case where it should be supported. What you want it as is anyone with a broken leg who can push for pity can get state-supported suicide. Medical rationale and chance of malpractice suit should be the choice, but it isn't one. |
