Bill: Indrala-Gaduridos Conflict Resolution

Details

Submitted by[?]: Ma'avak

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 2457

Description[?]:

"In response to the rising chance of conflict between Indrala and Gaduridos we propose the Beiteynu 1st Air Division be sent to work alongside our Accord comrades but shall not be ordered to engage Gaduridos unless war is declared. This is merely a preventive and not an aggressive measure.
This will need the support of the Naczelnik Nasi, the Av Beit Din, the Minister of Defence and 50% of the Knesset."

-- Yair Moshe Berkovic, Minister of Foreign Affairs

OOC: I want to send a few planes and stuff to circle around the Gaduridos army because we are too far away to assist with our navybut I don't really know how to say this properly or how many to send. What's an air division, is that a few planes? Ha! I really have no idea.

MessageOOC: I've had a bit of a look at air divisions. Still not entirely sure what they are, but basically there made up (I think) of various air wings, e.g. bomber wings etc. So I'd imagine one air division would be sufficient for an expeditionary force.

MessageWe ask that the Beitnyu reconsider on this subject.

We remind them that Gaduridos is bound by its constitution not to deport its citizens after they have been tried in Gaduridos. We tried two men who fled from Indrala and found them wholly innocent, the victims of the FSRP's dictatorial persecution of rival parties. Because we welcomed these innocents with open arms, Indrala has severed diplomatic relations and trade and now that we have stood up to them instead of backing down, is threatening us with war. We do not ask you to betray your commitments to the Accord, merely to put pressure on Indrala not to drag us all into a bloody and pointless war just the FSRP can hold a show trial.

We also ask you to realise that Gaduridos is no longer the Axis menace it was; indeed at present the Gaduridos that stands before you is ruled chiefly by parties who fought long and hard to overthrow that oppressive regieme. To hold the crimes of our predecessors against us is insane.

Message"We will consider the views of the Gaduri Foreign Affairs Department but once again state we are not launching an attack here or starting a war merely trying to ascertain the situation.

Additionally we make one other point in that if Gaduridos is no longer an "Axis menace" why did your party and other Communist parties, the ruling political bloc of the Dull Republic make attempts just two years ago to rejoin the alliance?"

Message"We ask the members of the Christian Zionist Party. specifically Minister of Defence Luke Godsman, to reconsider their position on this issue and uphold our duties as specified in the Accord treaty. Failure to do so may have to result in the formation of a new cabinet and the reallocation of the aformentioned Defence Ministry to a pro-Accord party."

Random quote: "No one today can afford to be innocent, or indulge himself in ignorance of contemporary governments, politics and social orders. The national polities of the modern world maintain their existence by deliberately fostered craving and fear: monstrous protection rackets. The 'free world' has become economically dependent on a fantastic system of stimulation of greed which cannot be fulfilled, sexual desire which cannot be satiated and hatred which has no outlet except against oneself, the persons one is supposed to love, or the revolutionary aspirations of pitiful, poverty-stricken marginal societies like Cuba or Vietnam. The conditions of the Cold War have turned all modern societies - communist included - into vicious distorters of man's true potential." - Gary Snyder
