Bill: Lowering The Compulsory Schooling Age
Details
Submitted by[?]: 帝国公明党 (Teikoku Kōmeitō)
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 2457
Description[?]:
The DSP, while we do believe in a strong education, believes that the current compulsory age for schooling, set at 21 is to high. We believe that it should be lowered to 17, which would, if in conjunction with another bill, would mean that it would be the age they are legal adults. Now considering we have a system of great free higher educational systems, and nearly every job requires some degree of higher education, we feel that making it compulsory after High School is really just not useful. Therefore the DSP proposes that the compulsory school attendance age be lowered from 21 to 17. |

Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The age until which students, if education were to be compulsary, are required to be educated (limited between 16 and 21).

Message | PSFF is a party for good, compulsory education for all pure Pan-Sekowans. We are against this proposal. |

Message | The proposal does'nt get rid of compulsory education, it just lowers it to come into unison with the legal adult age. |

Message | Yes, and with "good" I mean an education that lasts longer than until 17 years of age. Certainly, many people would continue their education after succesful graduation from compulsory schools but PSFF wants to minimize the drop-outs. |

Message | By making it more than 17/18 years, you are affectively forcing them into higher education establishments, since after 12th grade, they are the only option. |

Message | CeC believes that the more educated our citizens the better it is for all of us. As the world and technology advances the amount of education all citizens should receive, at a minimum, has increased. |
Date | 10:52:31, September 17, 2007 CET | From | Plato's Republican Party | To | Debating the Lowering The Compulsory Schooling Age |
Message | Considering the fact that post-secondary education, like pre-secondary, is paid for entirely by the Government, we in the PRP hardly see this as "forcing" a person into higher education, any more than we "force" children to attend an elementary. The connotation is entirely wrong, and we are merely advocating higher learning for all citizens. |
