Message | This to our party seems to be a good idea. It is one way in which we can exercise more rights to our people of our nation and to other nations. All people can join in and celebrate marriage from various cultures and faiths. Marriage is and should be celebrated more. The fact this law will recognise this, is fantastic. A great role model to future generations. Irene Edwards, Labour Party Foreign Minister and Minister for Teshuen |

Message | This seems absurd to us. Suppose a couple cannot perform a valid marriage under the laws of Solentia. According to the proposal, they can go abroad, marry there, and their marriage will then be recognised as valid? Seems that those who can afford a trip to different countries will add a privilege more to their collection... What does the government have to do with "marriages", anyway? If two (or three, or seventeen) people decide to live together, what business has the government in "recognising" it? Sen. Gudrun Gonzales - Workers Party |

Message | "Suppose a couple cannot perform a valid marriage under the laws of Solentia" and what possible circumstance would this couple be in to have us deny their marriage rights by law? As far as I am aware, there is no law on homosexiual marriage, interracial marriage, inter-faith marriage...so why must marruage ceremonies performed abroad be denied the right to be recognised? This is simply another steo towards freedom for the people; the people can marry in any way, shape or form they wish to. If at a later date, the Worker's Party wishes to take the government out of marriage laws altogether, this would be an ideal step towards making that possible. Sen. Susan Watkins; UPD senator from Orame, UPD Secretary of Public Services. |

Message | But if there is no circumstance in Solentia that couple cannot perform a valid marriage - what exactly does your proposal changes in the present situation? Sen. Gudrun Gonzales - Workers Party |

Message | The change is more of a sybmolic change; one that will allow us finally recognise all types of marriage as we aim to. We would support a legislation to gte rid of marriage laws if the WP would support this stage first. Sen. Susan Watkins; UPD senator from Orame, UPD Secretary of Public Services |
