Bill: Imperial Diet
Details
Submitted by[?]: Socialist Party of Luthori
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 2464
Description[?]:
This bill will stay in debate unless it is wished by the other parties to be voted upon. I was wondering of possible changing the name of the imperial diet to legislative assembly. I just noted that it is also comes from Germany, not saying that that is a bad thing though. Any comments? Feel free to express your thoughts. |

Message | Mr Speaker, "legislative assembly" is very generic and, well, boring. It simply doesn't fit in well with the whole Holy Empire theme. Other options I would consider include 'Imperial Synod' and 'General Assembly of the Church of Luthori'. I yield the floor. |

Message | General Assembly sounds good. But the of the Church of Luthori part sticks out. |

Message | Of course if we had a General Assembly it's leader (HoG) should be called the Moderator as well, with the Viceroy as a separate office (HoS). |

Message | What about 'Imperial Congress' or 'Imperial Chamber'? |
Date | 18:44:30, September 26, 2007 CET | From | Covenanters (IA) | To | Debating the Imperial Diet |
Message | Mr Speaker, The latest suggestions sound vulgar and foreign. More like a colony than an Empire, let alone a Holy one. I yield the floor. |
Date | 14:55:00, September 28, 2007 CET | From | Socialist Party of Luthori | To | Debating the Imperial Diet |
Message | Imperial Congress or Imperial Chamber is not all that much different from Imperial Diet. And how can you call it foreign if Imperial Diet already arises from another country, would the current name not be considered foreign in its own right? |
Date | 15:23:32, September 28, 2007 CET | From | Covenanters (IA) | To | Debating the Imperial Diet |
Message | The current name was not of my choosing. I would like to see it changed to Imperial Synod myself and would support proposals that enhance our Imperial character (such as "Council of Princes") and ones that make territorial claims ("Artanian Parliament", "Ruling Council of all Terra", &c) but would not support anything boring and generic. The "foreign" tag was just a jibe. |

Random fact: Particracy does not allow real-life brand names (eg. Coca Cola, McDonalds, Microsoft). However, in the case of military equipment brand names it is permitted to use simple number-letter combinations (eg. T-90 and F-22) borrowed from real life, and also simple generic names, like those of animals (eg. Leopard and Jaguar). |
