Bill: Extradition Ban
Details
Submitted by[?]: Libertà Parti
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 2461
Description[?]:
As a social democracy, it is one of our jobs as the motherland to protect our people from the evils of foreign governments; governments of foreigners, which, may I remind you, Likatonians very much hate. To freely give away our own people to our enemies, who may or may not properly treat them, is not only traitorous, but it will only inspire our own people to hate us. We certainly don't want that. |

Message | As a party of internationalist standing, we oppose this bill. Any Likatonian committing a crime abroad must not be given the power of tarnishing the name of the People as a whole. Likatonia is not a nation of criminals; we have nothing to fear. |

Message | We like this idea quite a lot. OOC: Most Likatonians don't hate foreigners per se, there just happen to be some rather nationalistic and xenophobic parties around. If you look at the opinions table on the national page, it shows that the nation slightly leans towards being internationalist. There are plenty of voters who think my party (and probably the AMPS and the Concerned Union of Fascists) are far from representative. Message | If our citizens commit a crime abroad, then let us punish them under our system as we would had they committed the crime here. In Likatonia, we know they will receive full justice, and we know they will not be mistreated. We know NEITHER fact if they are punished in another country. |
