Message | Just noticed the elections are probably happening pretty soon anyway. Might as well get some last couple of votes in. |
Date | 16:34:07, September 25, 2007 CET | From | Justice League of Cildania | To | Debating the Call for early elections, October 2460 |
Message | Spend the week flushing out one fly-by-night capitalist party, only to be replaced by another one... this game really drives me nuts sometimes. |
Date | 21:24:32, September 25, 2007 CET | From | Cildania Progressive Party | To | Debating the Call for early elections, October 2460 |
Message | We hope the Justice League is not referring to the Progressive Party as a fly-by-night capitalist party. We are a Party who wants to reach out to the wide spectrum of the centre ground whilst embracing both right and left. If not apologies to the Justice League we wish them and all other parties good luck with the forthcoming elections. |

Message | No the Cildania for Matty Party, who will likely pick up 30% of the vote then go inactive, just like what happened the last two elections... |

Message | Yeah. It's always annoying when these capitalist parties do well. :) |

Message | could we password the nation and then democratically selectively screen which new parties are allowed to join the nation based on their party profile in their application? |

Message | p.s. while were on the subject of game mechanics even though were not, does anyone know why establishing a state-religion and placing full support behind recognised religions made me secular? once would expect it would go the other way. The elections almost upon us as it is and a full term is always good for the appearance of national stability. |
Date | 08:22:29, September 26, 2007 CET | From | Cildania Progressive Party | To | Debating the Call for early elections, October 2460 |
Message | We agree in a full term for national stability and look forward to working with all parties following the election for the benefit of the citizens of Cildania |

Message | I don't think it's a matter of parties needing to be pre-screened. Just some people get bored and leave, don't have time, or find we don't have what they are looking for. Which is why elections (once parties got some visibility) wasn't that bad of an idea since if they can secure a few seats and feel a stake in the game they are more likely to stay. Also we are not exactly the most exciting region. Can't say we're moderate in the political sense (especially when the last election has two extreme libertarian parties, two fascist parties, and two hardline communist parties as their top six winners) but we don't have the wars, invasion, and intense role playing of other regions. We are more of a mellow little island separated from the rest of the world. And our electorate certainly favors certain parties over other parties. Being a communist party doesnt exactly give me the best fit here (and perhaps if I had to do it over again I would've chosen a different ideology to role play). But I've only played for about 3 weeks now and am still learning how the game works. I don't need to win 100 seats and it's a bit more fun to play the odd duck as I guess STEAM can also attest to. :) |

Message | I've played this game for over 20 months, in a few nations where I was the constant underdog as well. What bothers me is the unearned votes. This party has logged in twice, made one bill, and probably won't be back, yet a third of the nation will likely vote for him. If you guys want to roleplay a war, we're all for that too. Trouble is the old Cildanian parties worked so hard to make the nation neutral and isolated from everyone. We'd have to think up ways to get involved again. |
