MessageThe new law would allow us to have more people enjoying and becoming involved with sports and hopefully leading healthier lifestyles. Rather than allowing Local Government to run all of our sporting facilies, we as a national government need to do something about the health and fitness of the people of our nation. A good balance we feel is to have both government and private sporting clubs, it creates a good balance and doesn't mean we as a government have masses of control over these issues, yet get some input along with the ordinary people on the streets who these projects are aimed at helping. We have a duty to help the people of our country become healthier and need to ensure every single place in the country has good health and fitness facilites. Having some national government control over this would ensure we could provide this facility in equal measures for EVERYONE in ALL parts of the country.

MessageThe Movement for the Censtrist majority feel that such frivilous matters of sports clubs should remain in the jurisdiction of local government.
They would be betterly qualified to deem what sort of funding system is approproate in their constituency; a nationally imposed system would not be practical and hold potential to be very poorly implimented.

MessageHowever, if the national government has some control over the sporting club as well as private businesses which can manage the needs of their local constituencies, wouldn't we have a better mix of sporting clubs as all sporting clubs across the country would be better yet equally funded, so all areas and all sporting clubs would be equally good. Whereas if we leave these clubs in the hands of local government, we may not see good enough sporting and health faciltiies everywhere. Why should any part of the country not have equal health and sport facilities, we are in the year 2461 after all.

MessageWe basically think if we are to step out into the future, we seriously need to make sure all of our sports clubs are up to date with the BEST facilities, the BEST staff etc. I feel a mixture of national government and private businesses working together will be the best equation if we are to ensure proper management of a facility which should be and mainly is a vital component of our society. We also need to see equality right through the system and if every part of the country has a different sporting club in terms of standards we cannot as a government ensure that each person in our country has access to the best sporting/fitness club we have to offer. My aim as Health Minister is to be able to provide this sort of a service for everyone and the best way I can do that is through having this service ran through national government. Let us have a system where all people recieve equal chances of opportuntiies such as Health and Fitness, the only way we can actually achieve this is through having Government and Private Business working together rather than our current system where local governments get to prioritise where some of the health budget is spent and where different sporting and health facilities are not as good as others. Please remember this when the it comes to voting for this bill.
