MessageToo many cases have come to life in recent times of people being irresponsible as far as weapon possessing and carrying concerns. I and my Party both feel, it is time we restircted what sorts of weapons can be used and where they may be carried. In this shadow post, my job is to try my best to secure the public- this is also a key government aim, so let us work together and ensure this bill gets passed- in order to make our people on the streets feel safer, to reduce the amount of incidents and crimes which occur in relations to weapons and lets get some more order back into Solentia.

MessageWe wish for the Labour Party to outline exactly what sorts of weapons they feel should be carried and exactly what restrictions they plan to have put in place on where they may be carried.
Though the MCM admit that weapons are potentially dangerous to the saftey of the general public, we also concede to the fact that they are key instruments in the safety of the public on an individual level and help to prevent cases of rape and theft.

What reply does the Labour Party offer, and what guarentee can you provide that these laws will not be used by people to dissarm people on private property; rendering them defenceless.

Sen.André Duras; MCM Shadow Internal Minister.

MessageIn response to the comments made by Andre Duras- we would have to say that the main weapons we would be dissarming the public of would include- Guns, Bombs, Explosives, Knives etc. These are the main weapons which currently the public have access to, yet we feel shouldn't.

We agree with the MCM whole heartedly that the public need to protect themselves in someway and that is why we do not wish to strip the public of all weapons but leave them with weapons which they can defend themselves with. A few examples are Sprays (such as Pepperspray) and other martial arts type weapons such as truncheons and sticks. Basically the proposal would be that the only weapons people would be allowed to carry would be non leathal weapons, but weapons which are enough for a person to protect themselves with.

Which we feel is a reasonable policy as it allows the public to be safer as people will no longer carry leathal weapons just weapons which they can use to protect themselves in the case of an emergency. This will hopefully make our people much more safer.

MessageWe acknowledge the importance of this and though question the banning of Knives, we concede to the Labour Party that this is in fact, a reasonable proposal.

We do however wish to further inquire once more; where would the ban take place? What systems would be in place to enforce this law?

Sen.André Duras; MCM Shadow Internal Minister.

MessageLocal Government and Local Police forces have already spoken to us about the importance of this bill and have suggested to us that the ban will take place in any public place and to enforce this ban local police officers will carry on with their current duties as well as perhaps conducting more searches on a wider range of people. We appreciate this system is controversial but if most people were being searched regularly, we don't see a problem as ultimately it will mean safer streets and a safer public which is what all of our parties should want for out coutnry and its people.
