Bill: Privacy and Security reform Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Pan-Sekowo Freedom Alliance
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2462
Description[?]:
The current laws allow criminals to hide behind their "right to privacy". This bill proposes giving the courts the power to force people to give information on certain matters if needed. A practical application of this bill would be a lawyer aware of wrong doing by his client, who would be unable to act as a witness in court, due to his oath of confidentiality. If the court were given the power to compel him to reveal information, he could then act as a witness. This would give our courts another weapon in the fight against white-collar crime, while still maintaining the privacy of public citizens who commit no crimes. |
