Bill: Product Safety Testing Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: United Republics Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 2464
Description[?]:
Last month a woman had her face horribly burned by testing cosmetics for an Andalay based company. She now joins those harmed by testing products instead of animals. The URP believes we should protect the health of Lodamese citizens by allowing companies to test drugs and other products on animals before people. Let's end government regulations which ban or delay this practice, sometimes delaying needed medical advances for years and costing thousands of human lives. |

Message | We sympathise for the woman and her family, however its not like she didn't know the risks of testing cosmetics. She had a choice, and chose to apply these untested cosmetics - esentially its a risk that comes with the job. Animals on the other hand do not have a choice, they are caged and more often then not mistreated and kept in inadequet living conditions. As it stands in Lodamun animal testing is not banned, only subject to basic regulations which ensure animals are treated humanely. If animal testing becomes unregulated all animals involved in research and cosmetics testing are at the mercy of the researches, there will be no law in which even basic living conditions will need to be met. |
