Bill: People's Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Malivi Revolutionary Front
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 2463
Description[?]:
Comrades! For the past several terms, the party of St. George, despite winning a plurality of seats in Malivia, has been unable to either form a government or suitably participate in one. Rather than participating in parliament, they are using their mandate to occupy the ceremonial office of the Maharaja - in truth, they are misleading the people about their intent, and only use the power they are given for prestige. They represent the ultimate form of the imperialist dog, trading the will of the people for riches and status. It is for this reason that the MRF proposes that, from now on, the office of the Maharaja become purely symbolic, and that its hereditary occupant be beholden to the will of the nation; may those that currently profit from that office be forced into the public arena if they wish to hold power, and may they be forced to give justice to the mandate that the people have given them. |
