Details

Submitted by[?]: 帝国公明党 (Teikoku Kōmeitō)

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 2463

Description[?]:

The DSP does not believe that the current age that individuals must attend school is fair, nor useful.

As it stands the vast majority of students have finished there normal schooling by 18, in some cases 19, by which time they will be ready to attend a college/university.

However as not all will requiring a single year of higher education is a generally good idea.

Therefore the DSP proposes that the educational requirement age be changed to 19, and subsequently all students mandatorily have to go to one year of higher education.

MessagePlato's Republicans, while understanding the spirit of this bill, do not agree with it. We believe that a deep, comprehensive education including a mandatory four-year post-secondary degree in General Studies or a program of the student's choice is necessary to maintain the culture and society which makes Sekowo the great and mighty nation that it is. Do not forget that after graduation all students are expected to participate in a mandatory period of national service, either civil or martial. We have certain standards that must be upheld, and strong minds beget a strong nation.
