Message | Party policy is indifferent to this proposal. We will vote in favour for mere principle. |
Date | 00:53:13, October 02, 2007 CET | From | Commonwealth Workers Army | To | Debating the Higher Education Requirement |
Message | Some candidates are simply not suited for that much institutional education. We suspect a program that actually put such persons in arenas of sensible employ, would be more beneficial to the candidate AND the society. |
Date | 13:49:58, October 02, 2007 CET | From | Permissive Social Union | To | Debating the Higher Education Requirement |
Message | This will draw valuable resources from military manpower. No. |
Date | 22:29:55, October 02, 2007 CET | From | Libertà Parti | To | Debating the Higher Education Requirement |
Message | Who says that 18 and 19 year olds necessarily should be in the military anyway? They are just immature kids! This way, 20 year olds are fighting, not children. |
Date | 23:35:53, October 02, 2007 CET | From | Commonwealth Workers Army | To | Debating the Higher Education Requirement |
Message | Our laws say that 18 and 19 year olds should be in the military. Once you leave school in Likatonia, you serve in the military. Thus - those who are better suited for military progression than for extended schooling.. .are the strongest argument against a bil llike this. |

Date | 17:43:55, October 04, 2007 CET | From | Libertà Parti | To | Debating the Higher Education Requirement |
Message | So we shall propose a bill changing both the education and compulsory civil/military service age. |
Date | 17:54:26, October 04, 2007 CET | From | Libertà Parti | To | Debating the Higher Education Requirement |
Message | Actually, I have just checked; the law is that "upon COMPLETION OF SCHOOLING, all Likatonians must serve a year in the military or civilian national service." This means after the completion of mandatory schooling; therefore the compulsory service age rises as well as educational requirement. |

Message | The Liberta Parti are accurate... and therein lies the problem. If you change the mandatory school-end date, you automatically impact military recruitment. Which means - an extra two years of school equates to a later start for the military. |
Date | 18:50:30, October 05, 2007 CET | From | Libertà Parti | To | Debating the Higher Education Requirement |
Message | What exactly is wrong with that, may I ask? Do you want to send children to war? Or do you want to send men? We believe men are the more appropriate choice to send off to fight, rather than boys. |
Date | 19:31:32, October 05, 2007 CET | From | Likaton Coalition of the Willing | To | Debating the Higher Education Requirement |
Message | Our military is rarely at war, and the Service generally teaches several trades and skills. |
Date | 19:56:45, October 05, 2007 CET | From | Libertà Parti | To | Debating the Higher Education Requirement |
Message | What happens when we are at war? College also teaches several trades and skills. |
Date | 19:59:08, October 05, 2007 CET | From | Likaton Coalition of the Willing | To | Debating the Higher Education Requirement |
Message | So what you are saying is that when we are at war, we should not fight, and colleges=armed forces in education. I see no need to oppose the status quo. |
Date | 20:38:03, October 05, 2007 CET | From | Libertà Parti | To | Debating the Higher Education Requirement |
Message | I do not say we shouldn't fight, I say we should fight at later ages, such as when we are adults, not children. College ≠ military in education, but they teach different things. Yet, they both teach several trades and skills is all I said, and both the military and the educational aspect of society are highly important. And as you said, we rarely fight wars anyway, so perhaps it is more important to have an educated class capable of being drafted in the unfortunate circumstance we should need them to fight? |
Date | 01:01:19, October 06, 2007 CET | From | Commonwealth Workers Army | To | Debating the Higher Education Requirement |
Message | We are not averse to sending 18-year-old Likatonians to war. One 18-year-old Likatonian is worth a handful of Lodamese or Keymonese of any age. |

Message | A 20 year old Likatonian is worth three handfuls of Lodamese or Keymonese of any age. |

Random fact: It usually takes up to an hour for election results to generate. During this time, the "Next Election" date is put forward a month, which is confusing. Do not worry! In a short time, the election result will generate and the "Next Election" date will then correct itself. |
Random quote: "A return to first principles in a republic is sometimes caused by the simple virtues of one man. His good example has such an influence that the good men strive to imitate him, and the wicked are ashamed to lead a life so contrary to his example." - Niccolo Machiavelli |
